A BMW being chased by police in Bucharest, Romania crashed into a traffic light at high speed after losing control while trying to escape.
Footage shows the driver speeding along Victoriei Square in the Romanian capital on Sunday morning when he swerved, losing the back end of his car.
The motorist attempted to save his 5 Series but turned the steering wheel too violently and sent the car sideways sliding into a traffic light after the back wheels lost grip.

The car wiped out several bollards showering the carriageway with pieces of trim ripped from its body
The footage was captured on the dash cam of another car which was parked a few feet further down the road.
According to one witness: ‘The police tried to pull over the black BMW near Victoriei Square. The driver refused and the chase started.
‘The driver lost control after he tried to avoid one car and then crashed in front of me. The driver survived and nobody lost their life.
‘When police arrived, they checked him and the driver was under the influence of cocaine and he was drunk.’
The BMW was written off after the car slammed into several bollards and the traffic light.
The witness’s car was showered in pieces of trim which were thrown from BMW on impact.

Police arrived within 30 seconds of the impact and arrested the suspect at the scene
Less than thirty seconds after the smash the first police officers arrived at the scene.
Several other motorists stopped their cars after parts of the BMW were strewn across the carriage way.
The force of the impact pushed up the roof of the car, popping open one of the rear doors.
Members of the public rushed to help the BMW driver before the police arrived.
