Body camera footage shows the moment a Texas cop rescued three children who got lost in the Sam Houston National Forest for over 24 hours.

Video shows Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Jason Smith calling out to the kids — aged 2, 6 and 7 — early Friday morning. They were accompanied by a good Samaritan who had found them in the woods.

‘I got ’em, I got ’em. I have the kids,’ Sgt. Smith said into his radio after instructing the group to come to him.

‘I have all three children.’

The trio had gotten lost in the forest after they veered from the main trail to play in a dry creek. The sheriff’s office told KPRC-TV that they were all uninjured.

They had taken shelter under a fallen tree overnight, where they remained until they were rescued.

The children were reported missing Thursday night, prompting a multi-agency search effort.

Police say a local man who was very familiar with the forest went searching for the kids Friday morning after learning they were missing.

He found them around 9.30am in about a mile from where officials believe they entered the forest.

He then called 911 and alerted authorities that he had found the children.

Dispatch triangulated his location and directed Sgt. Smith to the group.

Once the children were in his care, the volunteer looked at him and said: ‘Ain’t Jesus good?’

‘He’s good,’ Sgt. Smith replied, before addressing the kids.

‘I’m the police. Are y’all ready to get out of the woods?’

‘I’m really hungry right now,’ one child replied.

One child replied, ‘I’m really hungry right now.’ Sgt. Smith said the kids would be taken to get some cheeseburgers

‘We’re going to get something to eat,’ Sgt. Smith told the kids, suggesting the kids would get cheeseburgers.

The deputy then used his phone to navigate the group out of the forest.

Video shows the children attempting to walk ahead of him.

‘Don’t get too far ahead, okay. I don’t want to lose y’all again,’ he instructs.

After a nearly 20 minute hike, the group emerged from the woods and were met by first responders.

Before the footage cuts off, Sgt. Smith is heard saying: ‘Hey, remind them about those cheeseburgers, okay.’
