Millions of Australians who were stuck in lockdown for months will be able to access $50 worth of vouchers in time for summer.

The NSW government will offer two more Dine & Discover vouchers to all NSW residents to revive the hospitality industry crippled by the state’s latest Covid-19 outbreak.

It follows the program’s successful statewide rollout last year, designed to pump money into the hospitality industry after the pandemic left many out of pocket.

The two $25 vouchers will be added to the Service NSW app in time for summer as fully vaccinated Sydneysiders enjoy their first taste of freedom in four months.

Two $25 vouchers are available to spend at restaurants, cafes, bars, wineries, pubs and clubs seven days a week, excluding public holidays.

The other two $25 vouchers can be used for entertainment and recreation, including museums, live music and theatre.

NSW treasurer Matt Kean is expected to announce more details on Thursday as part of a government support package to help the hospitality and tourism industries bounce back.

Restaurants, bars and cafes will be offered $5000 in grants and to expand outdoor dining into their car parks and gardens this summer.

The state government is yet to make a final decision on whether travel to region NSW will remain off-limits to Sydneysiders due to concerns about vaccination rates in non-metropolitan regions.

‘There have been issues raised. We haven’t made any decisions yet,’ Premier Dominic Perrottet said.

Deputy Premier Paul Toole added: ‘We want to make sure that our regional communities are safe so that information is going to be important.’
