The mum was slammed for being wasteful, because she chops off very thick ends

‘You are wasting a lot of onion with how much you cut off the ends – there’s nothing wrong with it and you are putting it in the bin,’ one woman said.

Others defended her.

‘That’s exactly how we do it in my household,’ one woman said.

‘How else are you supposed to cut onions – what are they harping on about?’ said another.

Some said she should ‘leave the root on to cut the onions’ because it  stops them from falling apart.

One woman said she simply buys pre-diced onion at the supermarket and labelled it a gamechanger.

The TikTok star eventually admitted she could see why people were upset and said she would try to cut the ends thinner in the future.

Others told the mum she didn’t chop the onions in a professional way – but she had a simple response for them: ‘I’m not a professional.’
